Customer needs

This customer contacted us through a neighbour who wanted to use his roof to install a solar system and then sell the electricity to the grid to generate revenue. This is a very common solution.

15kW on grid solar energy system

The 15kW grid-connected solar system was chosen according to the customer’s requirements and the size of the installation allowed by the customer. This allows the customer to generate up to 47.1kWh of electricity per day and also to use the electricity generated by the PV system when the grid is available. However, the system will not work if there is no electricity on the grid.

The following is a list of the products we supplied:

  • 410W solar panel * 60pcs (size: 1940mm*1048mm*35mm)

  • 12kW hybrid Inverter * 1pc (230/400VAC, 3L+N+Pe, sine wave)

  • 9.6kWh lithium battery * 2pc (48V 200Ah)

  • Bracket for 60pcs solar panels (rooftop mounting system)

  • Cable & connecter

Circuit connection diagram

The diagram below shows the circuit connections for this grid-connected PV system. Although grid-connected systems lack many features compared to other PV systems, grid-connected PV systems are simpler, less expensive and have a relatively shorter payback period, making them a good choice as an investment.

Roof placement diagram

Below is a picture of the roof installation for this system. This roof wanted to be more regular, with a total of 32 PV panels placed, not only to maximise the area of the roof, but also to meet the voltage requirements of the inverter.
